The year that has just concluded was an intense one, lived with the enthusiasm and the unfailing passion that distinguishes us, which makes or hearts beat and fills us with energy even when … we are exhausted.

It was a year during which:

  • we participated in lots of truly special events;
  • we stayed in dream hotels;
  • we met people whose dedication, resourcefulness, intuition and love for the hospitality industry enriched us professionally and humanly.

Now, a few weeks after returning from the festive break, already fully projected into 2019 and planning new activities, we are occasionally delighted to travel back with our memory to relive the wonderful moments that took our breath away.
We here at HotelmyPassion like to dream our experiences first – Start to Dream is our motto – and then to experience them: Collecting moments that matter, as the slogan of ILTM Cannes suggests; and finally we preserve them in that part of the heart that we can draw upon whenever we want to relish them once again.

We call them emotions and we want to retrace some of the most important moments with you!

 

From the celebrations for the anniversaries of some hospitality icons, undisputed symbols of Italian excellence around the world, to the opening of new hotels, and from the launch of a new luxury hotel brand to glamour events dedicated to the seasonal openings of gardens or terraces. And there are gala evenings or exhibitions where icon players of the world of top hôtellerie meet, compare notes and prepare the terrain to create extraordinary travel and accommodation experiences.

We followed great Chefs, following their inspiration and their competitions, their secrets and the things that make them so special. We saw how every event is amplified when we manage to involve our senses, in particular the olfactory sense, testament to which was the Notes of Summer event, during which the marvellous garden of the Sheraton Diana Majestic Milano was transformed into a sensory trail thanks to the ikebana installations filling the air with the refined fragrances of Gabriella Chieffo. We were regaled with no end of cocktails: traditional, reinterpreted or created especially by top Barmen, such as the one created exclusively by The Pantheon Iconic Rome Hotel for the Roman evenings called The Glamour Hotel Event – the special evenings dedicated to top general managers and owners of hotels, to the architects behind the most prestigious projects and to the leading operators in Real Estate. The events included:

  1. a magnificent evening organized at the Accademia di Francia Villa Medici in Rome to celebrate Vranken Pommery’s 10th year of activities in Italy, featuring the unmistakable savoir-faire of the Champagne Maison and a parterre of truly outstanding guests;
  2. the party marking 108 successful years at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo. In this hotel, a charming icon of Lake Como renowned for sophisticated glamour, every event is a happening of pure magic. Owners the De Santis family and their guests celebrated the 108 years of that which, ever since its opening in 1910, has stood as the undisputed symbol of the most exclusive hôtellerie on Lake Como.
  3. And Happy Birthday to another symbol of excellence, too: the Hassler Roma, the legendary hotel located at the top of the celebrated Spanish Steps climbing to Trinità dei Monti that is a benchmark of excellence for international elite tourism. An exclusive party celebrated 125 years of the hotel and 40 years under the aegis of Roberto E. Wirth, owner and General Manager.
  4. The celebrations for the 60th anniversary of Hotel de La Ville in Monza and its professional and zealous management by the Nardi Family. The Hotel de La Ville, the only luxury hotel in Monza affiliated with the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels of the World brand and Les Collectionneurs, has always been considered one of the most charming Italian hotels. To mark the occasion they inaugurated La Veranda.

 

And there’s more:

In Como:

the opening of Hilton Lake Como: Lake Como is enriched with a new address, the first Hilton property in the area. Beautifully appointed between the gentle mountain ranges and the crystal-clear waters of one of the most admired destinations in the world, Hilton Lake Como is a glam location offering a new concept of contemporary luxury, and among its many pluses, it bestows a breath-taking privileged view of the lake.

The following are opening in Rome:

  1. The Pantheon Iconic Rome Hotel with “The Autograph Collection” brand of the Marriott Group. A hotel with a contemporary character, wedded to some traditional canons but not caught up in clichés and which, thanks to restoration and refurbishment and interior design by Studio Marco Piva, has created new architecture that combines history and creativity with exclusive design.
  2. Singer Palace Hotel, a new boutique hotel of immense charm, housed in a noble townhouse from the early 1900s right in the city centre that you are sure to become a fan of. Its strengths are its attention to detail, design, and comfort offering unconventional luxury.
  3. Hotel De’ Ricci, the first wine hotel in Italy. A luxurious boutique hotel that offers its guests unique experiences as true wine lovers and the opportunity to sample the best wines in the world and avail of exclusive tours of the most famous wineries in Italy.

In Milan:

  1. Presenting The Dedica Anthology, a new brand in the world of luxury hôtellerie with a portfolio of seven historic properties in Italy and around Europe. Their hospitality philosophy embraces a palette of nuances all aimed at providing unforgettable experiences. With headquarters in Milan, The Dedica Anthology combines a strong sense of place and the legacy of the past with a curated and contemporary attitude, intuitively centred and focussed on every guest’s experience.
  2. Inaugurating NH Collection Milano Porta Nuova, a hotel with a contemporary appeal, exclusive services and a renewed gastronomic offering. With this opening, its twelfth in Italy, NH is continuing with its unstoppable development plan. NH Collection is the upper-upscale brand of the Company.
  3. The exhibition that Hotel Château Monfort dedicated to Jackie Kennedy Onassisand her iconic style through the photographs of Ron Galella on the occasion of Milan Fashion Week: “Extraordinary images of a timeless fashion icon” an exhibition of 20 original photos of Jackie Kennedy Onassis.

 

ILTM Cannes

Hotelmypassion will be participating as VIP Media in ILTM Cannes, International Luxury Travel Market Reed Exhibitions Limited. This is the most eagerly awaited event and one of the most important in the luxury travel segment. It is a privileged marketplace. It is here that luxury travel icons meet the leading lights in the prestigious hospitality sector.

More than any other happening, ILTM is the place to be for everyone involved in the business of luxury travel, who is curious to discover the latest trends or propose extraordinary luxury experiences for their guests.

That is how ‘moments that matter’ are created.
