Homages to design, urban oases, romantic Edens, jewels in the most spectacular nature: the new hotels opened in Italy in 2019 are made for dreaming in the midst of luxury and for falling in love with life

1 Principi di Piemonte | UNA Esperienze
This historic hotel, a true icon of Turin, is the new spearhead of the largest Italian hotel chain. And it could not be otherwise. The refurbishment work financed by Gruppo UNA and the Athens R.E. Real Estate Investment Fund has made the Principi di Piemonte even more elegant, if this is possible. The Principi di Piemonte | UNA Esperienze has 100 completely renovated rooms and suites distributed over the top 8 floors of the building, which is one of the highest in the chief city of Piedmont. This detail means it offers a marvellous view over Turin and the entire arc of the Alps.

2 Sheraton Milan San Siro
The new Sheraton Milan San Siro is an authentic urban oasis in the increasingly international Milan. The hotel, a historic destination of Milanese hospitality, has returned to welcome guests after restoration works of the previous Grand Hotel Brun that cost in excess of 60 million euros. Owned by European Hotel Investments, it is located in the San Siro district, an area with a predominantly residential vocation with structures dedicated to city entertainment, Sheraton Milan San Siro stands out in a green oasis that integrates harmoniously with the hotel’s interior design.

3 Rocco Forte House
In Rome, Rocco Forte House is located in an elegant historic 17th-century edifice, facing Piazza di Spagna. An ultra-private oasis of only 5 suites, it is conceived for lovers of the most sophisticated discretion. The apartments vary in size from 126 to 175 m2 for the two-bedroom residences; the Borghese Private Suite covers 291m2 and has four bedrooms. The Piazza di Spagna Penthouse-suite boasts its own terrace, and the rooftop offers a large open-air area with breathtaking views over the Eternal City, ideal for events.

4 Lefay Resort & Spa Dolomiti
Lefay Resort & SPA Dolomiti is located in the mountains that UNESCO declared a World Heritage Site. The Resort is in Pinzolo, within the di Madonna di Campiglio ski area: 150 km of pistes, 4 parks for snowboarding and a single ski pass that is valid for the entire district. The area is also home to international competitions such as the Alpine Skiing World Cup. It offers 88 suites starting from 57 m2, including the prestigious Royal Pool & SPA Suite covering 430 m2 and 22 private Residences connected directly to the Resort’s services; it is the first case of Serviced Branded Residences in an Italian SPA Destination.

5 Hotel de la Ville
Hotel de la Ville, the new gem of the Rocco Forte Hotels collection in Rome, is the quintessence of luxury and the most refined elegance. And more: it is a homage to the “great beauty” of Italy, to the most sophisticated taste that the entire world envies. The 104 rooms and suites, all very elegant and among the most spacious in the capital, boast roomy terraces with views. On the eighth floor, the stupendous Suite De La Ville – which is accessed by a private lift – is the jewel in the hotel’s crown.

6 NH Venezia Rio Novo
NH Venezia Rio Novo is the new 4-star of the NH Hotel Group where the history of cinema meets Venetian history to give rise to a unique sojourn experience that is typical of the NH Hotels brand. The hotel was designed following a concept inspired by the world of cinema and its profound connection to the city, which comes to life right from the lobby: here guests can relax and pass the time browsing the many books dedicated to the stars who helped to write the history of cinema and which feature Venice as their backdrop.

7 Masseria Torre Maizza
Masseria Torre Maizza, in Savelletri di Fasano (Br) is the brand-new country property of Rocco Forte Hotels in Apulia. It is a place that exudes romanticism. It is an Eden where it comes naturally to move around barefoot, on the cool stone of Trani, or to bask in the dazzling sun on the rooftop, sipping a Lecce coffee with tasty almond milk. Your gaze is free to sweep over the sea and the dense vegetation that fills and embraces the entire estate.

8 Room Mate Andrea
There is a cool new designer address in Sicily. The Room Mate Hotels chain is opening Room Mate Andrea in Trapani, which will be the group’s first hotel in Sicily and its fifth in Italy. The boutique hotel with 47 rooms is located in a spectacular palace built in the early 20th century by the Marquis Enrico Platamone and stands a short stroll from the beach and the city’s historic Old Town.

9 Leonardo Royal Hotel Venice Mestre
The Leonardo Royal Hotel Venice Mestre was opened in the middle of June. The 4-star superior (the highest classified in Mestre) has 244 rooms, a restaurant with outdoor seating for 185 people and rooms dedicated especially to female guests. The hotel also offers access to platform 1 of the “seamless” station. And there is more: there are a wealth of proposals for exploring the territory: Venice, the Prosecco hills and cycle tourism trails.

10 The First Roma Dolce
The new The First Roma Dolce from The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts collection is a boutique hotel with 23 rooms and suites. It encompasses a unique experience: the refined patisserie workshop. An authentic and distinctive character right from the name given to the structure, sweetness is a concrete direction: it inspires good humour, special occasions, family, and – above all – one of the pillars of Roman tradition.
