The Suite: The Royal Suite della Gherardesca
Dedicated to: those who love the great spaces and the refined and sumptuous elegance of old-time mansions.
Description: Built on the old main floor, once the most important of the Palace and entirely frescoed with the coats of arms of families who have done business with della Gherardesca, this grandiose suite is the perfect example of the majesty of the Palace. At 234 square metres wide, the central part of the suite consists of a long gallery with vaulted ceilings and illuminated by five large windows overlooking the hotel’s grounds. The ceilings are finely frescoed and the floor is ceramic of the original 18th century Capodimonte, the work of Ignatius Chiaiese. A parquet-floored living room offers a private antechamber to the master room, frescoed with papal throne surrounded by angels and enriched by a library available to guests.
The bathroom is another of the strengths, rich and opulent, describes the fascinating history of this wing of the palace, once the office of the president of the Southern Railways. It is presented with a large central marble bathtub, with walls historyd by a modernist design with bas-reliefs of mechanical tools, tooth gears, anvils and hammers, symbol of the active industrial industriousness of the beginning of the twentieth century. A wing of the Royal Suite also has a dining room for 8 guests, a spacious study and a guest bathroom. In this suite, as in all the Suites of Four Seasons Hotel Florence, guests can have a tie box from the popular designer Stefano Ricci, who embodies luxury at the highest level: guests can wear them when they believe during their stay, and decide whether to buy them at the start.
