hotelmypassion

For fans of Hotels and for tireless globetrotters seeking innovation, there is no question that 2019 is a sparkling year that will bring lots of new ideas and addresses where you can experience unique emotions.

From the cities to the seaside, by way of the mountains and the lakes. In Italy and around the world, the stars are the most prestigious hotel brands and individual hotels of great charm.

So are you ready to set off and collect new experiences?
Because a thirst for discovery not only enriches our journey, but also our life.

Rocco Forte Hotels

Rocco Forte Hotels is much more than the name of an important group; it is the soul and the life’s work of the Forte family: Sir Rocco, his sister Olga and his three children. Before them came four generations of hoteliers. A shared love shines through in the details of every hotel in the Group. Anglo-Italian character of undeniable style and elegance, which you find in all the hotels of the group.

2019 is a historic moment of unprecedented expansion for the Group. There are two inaugurations in May: the iconic Hotel De La Ville which is the second property in Rome, a stroll from Piazza di Spagna and the Spanish Steps, and Masseria Torre Maizza, the first structure in Apulia, in the province of Brindisi.
Then it will be the turn of Shanghai, The Westbund Hotel located right in the beating heart of West Bund’s new cultural hub. This hotel boasts the most sought-after cuisine marrying Europe and Asia, an incredible spa, a sky garden, and the distinctive flair of Forte hospitality.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group

The start of summer is eagerly awaited for the opening of the Mandarin Oriental, Lake Como, the company’s first resort in Europe. Immersed in the greenery of lush grounds, the Mandarin Oriental, Lake Como has 21 rooms, 52 suites and junior suites and two private villas. The gourmet restaurant, the bar bistro and the Pool Bar, beside the floating pool, all overlook the grounds and the lake. The Spa is the largest in the region and offers a state-of-the-art fitness centre, four private spa suites, two treatment cabins, an indoor pool and a large wellness area.

Hilton

This is a celebratory year for what is considered one of the most famous brands in the world: Hilton, one of the most renowned hotel chains and among those that have helped to shape the history of hospitality.
In fact, this year marks a rather important anniversary: 100 years of the brand – lots of happenings and events are scheduled in all the hotels for the celebrations.

Marriott International

Marriott International continues and augments its growth in Italy with the opening of Sheraton Milan San Siro. The inauguration is scheduled for August. Sheraton Milan San Siro will be the third hotel in Milan under the Sheraton brand, joining Sheraton Milan Malpensa and Sheraton Diana Majestic, and the seventh in Italy. Owned by International Hotel Investors, this opening places the emphasis on sophisticated design, impeccable service, and sojourns that provide guests with exclusive experiences.

The new Sheraton Milan San Siro was designed to become the best in its category and the preferred choice for business and leisure travellers coming to Milan. Located in the residential district of San Siro in Milan, an oasis surrounded by large green parks and entertainment facilities, the hotel will be ideally sited to capitalise on the large exhibition and conference centres of the surrounding area, including the MiCo Milano Conference Centre, the biggest conference centre in Europe, Fiera Milano and Fiera Milano City.

Arexpo, the site of the 2015 World Expo that will soon become the Science, Technology & Innovation Park, and CityLife, the new up-and-coming residential and commercial district, are also nearby. The hotel is beside the Caldera Park District, 110,000 square metres of offices and commercial facilities, and a three-minute drive from San Siro stadium, home to the city’s football teams – Inter and Milan. The Sheraton Milan San Siro is conveniently connected with the main airports and the motorway of Milan, as well as the finance and fashion districts.

Relais & Châteaux

The map of excellence charted by Relais & Châteaux is enriched with thirteen new addresses on the five continents. Nine charming hotels and four gourmet restaurants fully express the values of the Association: the pledge to protect the environment and pass on the traditions of the land, offering unique experiences without ever neglecting the quality of the service and the warmth of the welcome reserved for every guest.

As of today, in Italy there are ten restaurants without accommodation, four of which have three Michelin stars. In fact, 2019 opened with the announcement of the entry of Massimiliano and Raffaele Alajmo, who are re-joining Relais & Châteaux with two family flagships: Le Calandre (3 Michelin stars), the historic family restaurant in Sarmeola di Rubano, and the iconic Quadri (1 Michelin star) in Piazza San Marco in Venice.

A historic hotel for holidaymakers on the Viareggio seafront and an icon of hospitality in Versilia, Hotel Plaza e de Russie will reopen its doors in June 2019 after a series of major revamps that took two years. A concept of hospitality in line with the philosophy of sophisticated welcome promoted by SoftlivingPlaces, the group it is part of.

And the doors have already been opened, in February and March respectively, at Palais Ronsard in Marrakech and Blackberry Mountain in Tennessee.

In June it will also be the turn of Grantley Hall in Yorkshire. In Bermuda, a new destination enhances the Association’s Caribbean portfolio, and we explore the culinary traditions of the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria (Australia)

UNA HOTELS

The UNA Hotels Group offers the best selection of hotels and resorts in Italy, allowing you to enjoy a truly unique Italian experience, savouring its rich culture, gorgeous landscapes and exquisite cuisine. Its three brands represent three ways of experiencing hospitality, and they satisfy the desires of every guest whenever and for whatever reason they are staying: the refined UNA Esperienze locations, where pleasure is expressed in all its forms; the comfort and elegance of UNAHOTELS, with genuinely Italian atmospheres; or the UNAWAY hotels, effective solutions for smart breaks without sacrificing quality.

38 hotels, resorts and apartment hotels with extensive services dedicated to pleasure and business travellers.

19 destinations in important city centres and tourist resorts, in 10 of the most beautiful regions in Italy.

18,500 square metres of modern facilities for meetings, conferences and private events.

There are great expectations for autumn, with the scheduled reopening of
Principe di Piemonte Torino, one of the historic and representative hotels of Turin hospitality, which is destined to return to being a city landmark.

Room Mate

Room Mate Hotels was founded in Spain in 2005. It has 26 hotels – totalling almost 1,800 rooms – with 11 new openings in the pipeline. The hotels are designed as “homes” for visitors in search of comfort, hospitality and a welcoming spirit. Design plays a seminal role in Room Mate hotels. Famous designers such as Patricia Urquiola, Lázaro Rosa Violán, Tomás Alía, Lorenzo Castillo, Pascua Ortega and Teresa Sapey, among others, have showcased their design skills in the group’s hotels all over the world.

May saw the opening of Room Mate Andrea, the cool new designer address in Trapani, Sicily. This exclusive 47-room boutique hotel marks the hotel chain’s debut on the island. Located in a spectacular palazzo constructed at the start of the 20th century by the Marquis Enrico Platamone, it is near the beach and the city’s historic Old Town. Architects Filippo Terranova and Nicolò La Sala have transformed Palazzo Platamone into the “timeless home” that is Andrea through refurbishment which respected the original design.

There are plenty of extremely sophisticated details: from high ceilings to friezes decorated by damask fabrics; from the main staircase in Moorish stone to the splendid hall. Room Mate Andrea offers services of the highest quality: rooms and common areas with exclusive design, a meeting room, a bar and a spectacular terrace with pool. All the guests of Andrea can take advantage of innovative services: breakfast is served until 12 and there is free Wi-Fi available in the hotel and throughout the city.

The new opening is part of the company’s expansion plan, which aims to double its international presence within the next 18 months. Eleven new openings will be added to the 26 hotels currently in the portfolio, increasing the number of rooms from 1,800 to 3,600 by the end of 2020.
