The heart of the Metropol New Year Gala Dinner will be “The Firebird”
Overnight into 1 January, Metropol is going to take a new look at the epoch of Bakst and Diaghilev in collaboration with top-of-the-agenda Russian artists, designers, decorators and musicians. In the hotel main room, the party guests will be shown a unique pageantry embodying the new Russian style. The heart of the Metropol New Year Gala Dinner will be The Firebird — a character from Igor Stravinsky’s ballet, for which the scenery and the costumes were created by Leon Bakst in the context of The Russian Ballet Seasons in Paris. During this New Year’s season, Metropol, inspired by the era of the past, will offer its modern reconceptualization, which will be reflected in the hotel’s festive decorations as well as in its New Year’s Eve program.
New Year’s Eve Program
The main star of the evening, jazz punk diva Teona Kontridze, is a favorite of the public and a frequent sight at holiday festivities for members of the Forbes Russia list. Teona Kontridze is unique as both an artist and a female stand-up comedian. To date, the track record for Teona Kontridze’s jazz band includes performances on the same stage as world-famous artists such as Bryan Ferry, Goran Bregovich, Eros Ramazzotti, Marchiba, Cirque du Solei, De Phazz, and others. Teona will give performances in both Russian and English, enriched by her lively and charismatic stand-up routine.
The evening will begin with the performance of the Peter Vostokov’s Big Jazz Orchestra. Using both original scores from the golden era of jazz fever and retro-instruments, the 17-piece orchestra recreates the atmosphere of the 20s-40s from the last century. The energetic dance music of the jazz giants – Jimmy Lunsford, Dizzy Gillespie and Duke Ellington – are ideal for ushering in the New Year. Happy fair Firebird will be open throughout the evening for each guest to try his/her luck and win prizes provided by Metropol Hotel or its friends and partners.
The famous Moscow chef Andrei Shmakov, brand chef of the Metropol hotel and the SAVVA restaurant of modern Russian cuisine, will be in charge of the gastronomic diversity. Guests will be offered an exquisite gala dinner with dishes from his signature menu: over 20 kinds of appetizers, a seafood station, specialties of contemporary Russian cuisine, and desserts cooked by the Pastry Chef.

Category A – 75,000 rubles
Category B – 65,000 rubles
Category C – 40,000 rubles
Fees include participation in the New Year Party program, gala dinner, and unrestricted alcoholic and alcohol-free drinks.
We offer special rates (from 15 000 rub per night) for accommodation from December 28th to January 1st for the guests of the New Year Party.
A New Year tour includes:
