Villa Igiea, Rocco Forte Hotels address in Palermo, will welcome guests and lovers of the Sicilian art de vivre with numerous new features designed for the 2024 season
Spring is coming to Sicily and Villa Igiea is ready to welcome guests with a series of initiatives and news that will surprise.
BRUNCH & LAB
The Sunday brunch at the Florio Restaurant, available from 10 March to 12 May, is enriched with three new events.
The “Brunch & Lab” are local craft workshops, led by excellent companies:
10 March – Art of Sicilian Embroidery with Manima World;
14 April – Ceramics with Nicolò Giuliano;
5 May – Papier-mâché with Paola Barbasso’s women.
Three unique sensory journeys where beauty and craftsmanship blend harmoniously.
The workshops are followed by the moment most awaited by gourmands with the menu created by Fulvio Pierangelini to pay homage to the dishes of Italian cuisine on festive days.
EASTER
Guests will be able to immerse themselves in Sicilian Easter with a program that starts on Holy Thursday with the discovery of the most evocative places of worship in Palermo. We continue with a treasure hunt in the garden for the little ones. We continue with an excursion to a characteristic medieval village where the inhabitants perform in a parade in costumes depicting the triumph of good. Finally it ends with the sumptuous lunches overlooking the sea on Easter and Easter Monday.
CONTEPORARY ART
There are two photographic exhibitions scheduled, which offer the opportunity to discover a new Palermo, through the lens of the contemporary:
- From March 14 | The shots of the Palermo artist Maria Lannino capture, in their contrast, the essence of the places in her city.
- From May 4th | The exhibition “Nonostante Ballarò” by Francesco Bellina and Antonio Marras tells, without rhetoric, the life of the Ballarò district, combining the canons of fashion and those of photojournalistic storytelling. A selection of works will be welcomed and visited at Villa Igiea, where the Sardinian designer will be the protagonist of a charity evening dedicated to raising funds for the neighbourhood.
INTERNATIONAL BARTENDER & MIXOLOGY
The Igiea Terrazza Bar confirms itself as a temple for mixology lovers, invited to a series of exclusive events in which Maestro Salvatore Calabrese, creator of the menu of the iconic bar, will duet between new drink lists and classics reworked for the occasion , with:
- Yasutaka Nakamori of Bar Doras in Tokyo on Thursday 28 March;
- Patrick Pistolesi, of Drink Kong in Rome, Tuesday 17 June.
TAILORMADE EXPERIENCE
Various exclusive experiences proposed by the concierge, to enrich the album of memories. Music lovers will be able to be enraptured by the acoustics of the Teatro Massimo by accompanying them to a dinner in the hotel before or after attending a show in the theater which ranks first in Italy and third in Europe. For her lovers, new for 2024, the opportunity to discover Palermo from the perspective of the sea, setting off directly from the hotel pier, on a legendary boat.
