Milan

Four Seasons Hotel Milan presents its new Urban Chalet-themed set-up, a welcoming Alpine refuge has been recreated in the hall that, in the 15th century, was used as a church by the nuns of Santa Maria del Gesù, who lived in the convent.

Designed by the acclaimed artistic director Vincenzo Dascanio, this season’s Urban Chalet will surely amaze both the guests of the hotel and Milanese, transporting them to the cosy atmosphere of a mountain cabin, in the heart of Milan’s exclusive fashion district.

Dascanio has created a magical wonderland, with wood-panelled interiors, rugs and faux-fur cushions. Vintage skis, festive garlands and sparkling lights create an authentic mountain atmosphere, while comfy corners of the lounge offer just the right warmth for an intimate tête-à-tête with friends, loved ones or colleagues.

Chef Fabrizio Borraccino has created an Alpine inspired menu, with ideal proposals from aperitif to dinner. Dishes to be shared, in typical mountain style, including cheese fondue, canederli, pizzoccheri and the traditional Christmas panettone – the classic Christmas cake of Milan, which symbolizes the holiday season.

Camparino in Galleria has reopened: the restyling, curated by the firm Lissoni Associati, has managed to preserve and exalt its historical heritage and the Art Nouveau period details, redefining its present and future identity at the same time.

The spaces of the Sala Spiritello, on the first floor directly overlooking the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, have been bequeathed a design and furnishings that make them more suitable for hospitality and for presenting the new cocktail & food proposals.

At the historic Bar di Passo, on the other hand, conservative restoration has been carried out aimed at enhancing its historic and Liberty-style heritage, and it includes the bar counter, the lighting, the mosaic and the coffered ceiling, making the spaces more usable.

A full-height wall decorated with original historic bottles and objects that relate the story of the brand accompany customers through the three souls of this venue, which are developed on the first floor, the ground floor and the basement.

Rome

If you are staying in Italy, why not try LIÒN Seafood Wine&Cocktails in Rome, which has been awarded the coveted recognition of best European restaurant at the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards 2019.

Designed by the Roman firm COLLIDANIELARCHITETTO, the innovative address in Largo della Sapienza which is part of the Tridente Collection group, has managed to win the favour of a jury consisting of the most influential personalities in the design, hospitality and lifestyle sector at an international level, obtaining first place in the ‘Europe Restaurant’ section.

“A beautiful and evocative place whose design speaks for itself,” commented the judge Lydia Forte, an expert in high-quality hotels and restaurants.

LIÒN is a universe of colours, materials and geometries that merge with great formal consistency to offer a totalizing experience between design and cuisine.

LIÒN also stands out for the new culinary concept that combines the sea and fine drinking. Observing the guidelines of executive chef Francesco Apreda, the young chef Luca Ludovici proposes fish specialities, for an informal lunch or a sophisticated dinner, designed to satisfy the most refined palates and bestowing a first-class gastronomic experience.

Venice

The Grand Hotel dei Dogi The Dedica Anthology, a luxury hotel in the heart of the real Venice, has been enhanced with a new space dedicated to those discovering the city for the first time and those who wish to rediscover it day after day.

It occupies an exceptional location, Cannaregio, where the authenticity of one of the few neighbourhoods still inhabited by native Venetians meets the contemporary design of Patrizia Quartero.

La Voga Bar arose from the passion for rediscovering local food and wine and the love for innovation in mixology, with great attention to the quality of the ingredients served. Its name was inspired by the city of Venice, its traditions, and at the same time, it recalls Vogue.

Inspired by the colours of the Lagoon and the ancient craft of gondola-building, La Voga Bar features seats in peacock blue-green Rubelli velvet, armchairs in pale green leather with a glossy black wooden frame, and tables and panelling in Canaletto walnut. The design contributes towards offering an exclusive experience reminiscent of a yacht club.

London

For a more international experience, London has recently seen the opening of the Italian Caffè Latteriadesigned by the Milanese architecture firm Vudafieri-Saverino Partners, in Islington.

The architecture firm based in Milan and Shanghai behind some of the trendiest venues in Milan (including Spica, Il Luogo di Aimo e Nadia, Peck CityLife, Ristorante Berton, the two Dry pizzerias …) has brought to London all its experience in the development of new concepts for restaurants. Inspired by the culture and style of Milan, the restaurant reinterprets the charm of old creameries in a contemporary key: places where you can eat homemade and unpretentious dishes, in an authentic and traditional setting.

The result is an eclectic ‘50s-style Milanese eatery, characterized by an informal and comfortable atmosphere. The gastronomic offering features healthy dishes inspired by tradition: from homemade pasta, risotto and pizzas to sandwiches and salads, made from top-quality Italian ingredients.

The exterior of the restaurant is a clear throwback to the aluminium windows of the ’50s, capable of immediately capturing the attention of passers-by thanks to its bright red colour, to the signs that emerge like pop-ups and to the large windows, which flood the interior with light.
