The Amauris Vienna

After two years of renovation, The Amauris Vienna presents itself as the new luxury boutique hotel in Vienna. Here hospitality is characterized by the search for beauty in every detail. Starting from its name which draws inspiration from the Amauris monarch butterfly, a symbol of elegance and lightness

Do you want to treat yourself to an autumn escape in the Austrian capital? Here is the right opportunity to stay at The Amauris Vienna, a renovated boutique hotel that celebrates the partnership between timeless design, history and the beauty of Vienna.

Located in the heart of Vienna, in the iconic Opera and Ringstrasse district, it is the only Relais & Châteaux in the city.

The building that houses the hotel – once a noble residence – was built in 1860 by architects Flattich and Schumann. Today it shines again thanks to the signature of the Viennese architecture firm HOPPE + PARTNERS ZT – GMBH and the Croatian architect Nikola Arambasic of the OCD Arhitekti firm for the interior details.

All 4,200 square meters of the hotel are embellished with the use of fine materials. The most refined stylistic choices are combined with the conservative recovery of architectural elements, such as the historic facade and the lobby staircase.

History and contemporary design also find their perfect home in the 45 rooms and 17 suites, divided into different types to meet every need; stuccos, wallpapers created exclusively for The Amauris, linens and velvets in bold colors accompany guests during their stay.

The 2 signature Suites, the Opera Suite – 120 m2 overlooking the Ringstrasse and the State Opera House – and the Loft Suite – 72 m2 overlooking the Karlskirche – are also a preferential panoramic point over the most famous historic buildings of the city.

Glasswing, the hotel’s gourmet restaurant – which also takes its name from the butterfly with the unmistakable transparent wings – is the result of great research, for a culinary experience that does not disappoint expectations.

With direct access to the Kärntner Ring and completely redesigned in its spaces, it now boasts natural light and its spaces are embellished with magnificent works of art from the personal collection of the family that owns the structure. The high quality and respect for seasonal raw materials mainly coming from local producers is the must of the culinary proposal of Executive Chef Alexandru Simon.

Instead, the Glasswing Bar&Bistro offers a fusion between cuisine and bar through a careful selection of drinks and contemporary dishes. The host, Head Bartender Maximilian Wölle and Executive Chef Alexandru Simon create a sophisticated blend of traditional and modern Austrian dishes here.

Finally, Al Fresco dining is the outdoor space from which to admire the city during breakfast, lunch, aperitif or dinner.

On this journey into beauty, guests can also indulge in the new Amauris Spa. It is located in the ancient cloister of the building.

Here, in the centre, is also the covered swimming pool whose opening glass roof lets natural light filter through. The wet area and the Technogym equipped gym are unmissable.
