Sandies Hotels & Resorts presents the new Baobab Beach Zanzibar

Great news for Sandies Hotels & Resorts, the brand of Planhotel Hospitality Group – a leading resort and hotel manager in the Indian Ocean area – which has opened Baobab Beach Zanzibar, joining Sandies Tropical Village Kenya to expand the brand’s holiday offer further.

Sandies Baobab Beach Zanzibar is located on the famous white beach of Nungwi, on the northern tip of Zanzibar 50 kilometres off the east coast of Tanzania, a few degrees south of the equator.

The island of Zanzibar, which has natural landscapes of unprecedented beauty and offers the chance to experience breath-taking sensations, has been a crossroads for exchanges between East Africa, the Indian Ocean, China and Europe for centuries, and it is a place where different cultures coexist harmoniously. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1960.

Zanzibar is easy to reach from Italy thanks to charter flights organised by Alpitour and by direct flights operated by several companies (Qatar, Fly Dubai, Turkish Airline, Omar Air, Ethiopian Airlines and Kenya Airways).

Sandies Baobab Beach owes its name to the majestic centuries-old baobab trees scattered around the Resort, connoting it as a tropical oasis immersed in nature.

The 105 rooms (Swahili, garden, family, superior and deluxe rooms) are spacious and bright, surrounded by lush green gardens and the crystal-clear blue of the Indian Ocean, and they meet all the varying requirements of families, couples and groups of friends.

They are characterised by a blend of the most original Swahili style and unmistakable Italian taste that gives rise to a contemporary but at the same time warm, romantic and welcoming atmosphere.

Sandies Baobab Beach has direct access to the beach, which is not subject to the tides on this stretch of the coast: good news for guests who want nothing other than a chance to enjoy long, relaxing swims.

Every guest at the Baobab Beach Zanzibar, whether adult, teenager or child, can enjoy the holiday the way he or she wants: from sports to snorkelling and diving, or excursions like the one to the Jozani Nature Reserve which has the rare Red Colobus monkey, shopping in the nearby Stone Town with an unmissable visit to Forodhani night-time market, and for music fans, Busara Music Jazz Festival, an atmospheric and very chic international festival organised every year that is well worth following, and even a safari in Tanzania.

For a beauty and wellness break, try Mvua African Rain SPA, an oasis of relaxation for body and mind whose very name – in Africa, rain means life and it refreshes after the heat of the day, rehydrating the ground, reawakening the senses and exalting the fragrances of nature – evokes the beauty and the magic of the environment, proposing treatments that draw upon ancient traditions, based on natural ingredients (plants, flowers, salt, cereals, spices, wild honey and unrefined sugar).

The all-inclusive offer allows you to tailor your choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner at The Beach Gallery Buffet Restaurant, which offers the finest cuisine of Mediterranean and international inspiration without neglecting local fare: curious holidaymakers can even try evenings dedicated to Zanzibar fare, with flavours that blend influences from Arabic, Portuguese, Indian, English and Chinese cuisines, the fruit of the cultures that have formed part of the history of the island.

Very aware of environmental sustainability, the resort applies a strict policy to food waste and space reduction. There are self-service bar areas with water, tea and herbal teas available in dispensers throughout the location.
