News for the 2019 season, the inauguration of the ‘Virginia Suite’ an authentic declaration of love to the woman who contributed towards creating the legend of San Pietro di Positano. The 110-square-metre suite occupies an entire floor, has a privileged entrance to the panoramic pool and direct access by lift, without stairs. Its special features include starfish, inlaid rather than painted, adorning the walls, the private terrace with breath-taking view; and an elegant bathtub inspired by traditional Japanese models – deeper than western ones – scenically nestled under the living rock of the Coast.
Sea lovers can enjoy utter privacy on a private beach with direct access. A lift arduously carved into the rock whisks you in a few seconds from the lobby to the sea: a quiet natural cove with crystal-clear waters, a well-equipped solarium and a bar. For an inviting break, check out Il Carlino Restaurant, a gourmet corner dedicated to the hotel’s founder, Carlino Cinque. The restaurant is by the beach, set amid high rocky cliffs.

Why we like it
- The Terrace in front of the lobby and the bar overlooking the sea, furnished with benches decorated with Vietri ceramics, is like a picture postcard. Here, time seems to be standing still, the scenery takes your breath away and a sense of calm pervades your soul. Our favourite ritual: sipping one of the many cocktails especially created by the bartender, such as the ‘Positano New York’ or the Positano Spritz’ at sunset;
- Evocations of pure magic during the candlelit dinners at ‘Zass’ restaurant, holder of a Michelin star, where you can savour the classic dishes of traditional Campania cuisine in perfect harmony with international recipes. The windows of the restaurant afford a gorgeous panorama over the village of Vettica Maggiore;
- The morning excursion along the Amalfi Coast and in the Gulf of Naples aboard the stylish Morgan 44, the hotel’s private yacht;
