First Hotel in Italy for Millennium & Copthorne Hotels Group

Copthorne_HotelMyPassion

The Grand Hotel Palace in Via Veneto, one of the historic hotels of Rome, is the first hotel to become part of Millennium & Copthorne Hotels. With this acquisition the important hotel group, quoted on the London exchange and controlled by the Singapore City Developments Limited Property Group, makes its official arrival in Italy. This is the first stage in a major programme of acquisitions on the Italian market that names Milan and Venice as its next destinations and highlights the group’s desire to acquire real estate for use as hotels. The “Grande Palazzo di Via Veneto”, constructed in 1927, has 87 rooms, including 13 suites, distributed over seven floors, the Cadorin restaurant & Lounge Bar, which proposes traditional Italian fare, Piero’s Bistro offering excellent refreshment on Via Veneto, the meeting rooms, which cover an area of 300 square metres, and the KAMI SPA, a tranquil oriental oasis. It is a prominent illustration of that Roman modernism that marks the transition from Art Deco to the Twentieth-century monumental style of the 1930s, and the hotel’s interior is graced with frescoes by the Venetian artist Guido Cadorin. For Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, entering Rome also means affiliation with the Preferred Hotels Group, one of the most important Luxury Hotel Collections in the world.
