Preidlhof Luxury Resort, new wellness experiences

Preidlhof
Preidlhof Spa Destination in Italy reopens offering new wellness experiences based on the philosophy“Glowing Flow Lifestyle”

Award-winning Destination Spa, Preidlhof in Italy, has reopened to guests.

Summer 2021 sees the launch of new Transformational Wellness Retreats, new signature Rituals and treatments. Renovations have also been undertaken to the Spa Treatment area and public spaces, and there is a new secluded outdoor Mediterranean pool experience.

Months of in-depth research by Award-winning Spa Director, Designer and Transformational Wellness Coach, Patrizia Bortolin has led to the further expansion of the wellness concept she designed for Preidlhof: ‘The Preidlhof Way’ is imbued with Bortolin’s hallmark ‘Glowing Flow Lifestyle’ philosophy and integrates medicine, holistic experiences and spiritual well-being. Preidlhof’s outstanding team of therapists and internationally-renowned healers is also further enriched, the goal always to build a unique and distinctive experience for every guest.

Every stay is an opportunity for physical and psychological renewal, for internal and external transformation.

New Retreats

Preidlhof now offers twelve Transformational Retreats to stimulate guests physically, energetically, spiritually, psychologically, socially and emotionally.

‘Energy Healing for Two’ Retreat

A five-day journey in which individual healing experiences are combined with sessions to be shared as a couple, with a close friend or family member. Harmonise individual energies to create a new communal energy which is lighter, more playful and more aware. Within this Retreat, treatments designed to effect greater selfawareness are combined with enjoyable massages and sensory training, with time also to rest and reconnect with nature.

Each Retreat is highly personalized, the guest experience tailored according to the goals of the individual guest, their stage in life and what he or she is ready to integrate. Guiding guests in their discovery of a new emotional, physical and spiritual dimension is Patrizia Bortolin, assisted by Preidlhof’s team of healers.

The traveller’s mindset is to be transformed from one of expectation, entertainment and aspiration into one that is enriched, enlivened and fulfilled. There are some extraordinary, highly-skilled healers who are otherwise difficult to encounter in the wellness sector. They are given the space and support they need to bring about important changes.

Colours, aromas and sounds play an important part in some of the latest generation of treatments and wellness consultations. Mindful eating sessions combined with sensory analysis provide experiences that are insightful, entertaining and inspiring.

Retreats guests also exclusively enjoy a rich programme of mindfulness classes, dance therapy, barefoot meditation, yoga nidra, laughter yoga, Dao Yin yoga, cosmetic rejuvenation, forest bathing, therapy rituals and purification with alpine herbs.

Further opportunities include experiences in self-awareness, transformation of quality of sleep and movement, the attainment of a happier and more creative life through colour, sensuality, trauma healing and ancient healing methods.

New pools and restyling of public spaces

A new ‘Mediterranean Pool’ pays tribute to the unique climate that distinguishes the area. Located on the 46° Parallel where the Mediterranean begins, Preidlhof is situated in the mountains and enjoys a mild climate all year-round. In this unique micro climate, palm, lemon and olive trees thrive alongside high mountains often topped with snow.

This new relaxation space is discovered by swimming through a cave which connects to the central “Sole” pool. There is a lounge atmosphere with chaise longues and also four private whirlpools. Surrounded by rich vegetation, guests immerse in nature overlooking the “Schwarzbrenner” Sauna, an environment with natural stones and ancient barrels that once contained fine grappas.

Running like a golden thread through the entire resort, ‘The Preidlhof Way’ wellness philosophy is incorporated into all aspects of daily life, all interactions, experiences and treatments offered to guests. It is also interwoven into the design and architecture.

The connecting corridors and the area reserved for treatments have undergone an important restyling this spring: the philosophy that distinguishes the resort is reflected in the spaces, the common thread unifying the different Resort environments.

Essential furnishings, neutral tones, new lighting fixtures, the clever use of natural daylight and diffused aromatic herbs help to create a 360-degree wellness experience, also harmonising balance and serenity for wellness-seekers.

Awards

Battaglia’s extraordinary healing abilities come to the fore in this dedicated “Glowing Flow” Retreat: an intriguing mix of mindfulness, Trauma Healing and refined experiential techniques of inner contact. Stefano Battaglia was named one of the ‘Top Healers in the World” by Tatler Spa Guide 2020. His individual “Glowing Flow” session was also named “Holistic Treatment of the Year” at the Destination Deluxe Awards 2020 and evolved into a dedicated Retreat.

Therapists

Two new important figures join Preidlhof’s pool of internationally renowned experts:

Shiatsu Master Andrea Martinelli specialises in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tai Chi Chuan, Qi Gong and Educational Sciences. After ten years in Ecuador, where he founded a shiatsu school, Martinelli returned to Italy both working in a hotel and as a shiatsu therapist with drug addicts, children with Downs Syndrome and people who are visually-impaired, obtaining wonderful results. In his approach, the client is never passive: through his touch he manages to create a relationship and grasp the nuances that people are not yet aware of themselves. Central to his work is Joy, in listening to and helping others, providing moments of inner peace to accompany them in a process of profound change.

Norma Jean Botticelli, a psychologist from Merano, is a young wellness seeker, who became passionate in Patrizia Bortolin’s work with Preidlhof, focusing her work on the sensory food concept, movement based on the circadian rhythm and the self-discovery elements characterised in”The Preidlhof Way” approach to wellbeing. With her, guests can follow an individual training programme embracing a 360 ° approach to mental, physical and emotional well-being: functional training, GAG, core stability, muscle relaxation, yoga nidra and laughter yoga, walks in nature with breathing exercises and Kneipp.

The team includes the internationally-renowned therapist Stefano Battaglia, also known as “the shaman”, Martin Kirchler, and Dr. Alexander Angerer who specialises in complementary medicine and oversees and integrates all experiences. The environment is multicultural and cross-generational with solid foundations in the oldest therapeutic disciplines and the latest scientific findings. Psychologists, mindfulness trainers, yoga teachers, transformational coaches, qualified holistic masseurs and beauty therapists are also part of the Spa team

The Preidlhof Way

Patrizia Bortolin created “The Preidlhof Way” wellness concept based on her signature ‘Glowing Flow Lifestyle’ philosophy and the latest neuroscience studies that describe two types of well-being: hedonic and eudaimonic.

“The Preidlhof Way” is a wholly original Wellness concept, a holiday dedicated to the positive interaction between these two approaches which, when balanced, enable the individual to regenerate and truly flourish. This is also Aristotle’s complete definition of Well-being. Hedonic well-being is experienced in the most joyful and hedonistic terms, in beauty and a pleasant external realisation. Eudaimonic well-being is achieved when one confronts one’s past, heals, strives to reach a higher purpose and shares with the community.

In Eudaimonic wellbeing, learning and introspection are valued, and health care and prevention are taken care of. “The aim is to attain true well-being through a hedonistic approach to the present and a more eudaimonic approach to the past and future,” explains Patrizia Bortolin, Spa Director, Spa Designer & Transformational Wellness Coach.

As hedonic and eudaimonic well-being form two halves of a whole, Preidlhof as a Resort also balances the twin ‘souls’ of the Valley and Region. South Tyrol is an autonomous Italian Region comprising a mix of Italian and Germanic culture.

These contrasting styles and characteristics are perceived in a teutonic blend of efficiency and precision twinned with Italian flair and a more laid-back approach; introversion and empathy coupled with extroversion; and an Austrian kitchen with a love for Italian cuisine.
