Art is the protagonist of autumn at Villa Igiea

arte

The splendid Sicilian residence of Rocco Forte Hotels offers an autumn full of art. In fact, until January 22nd Villa Igiea will host the third edition of BAM – The biennial Arcipelago Mediterraneo. Not only. The hotel will offer exclusive visits to Palazzo Butera and two fascinating itineraries designed by well-known local artists

Autumn with its still mild climate and its poignant colors is an opportunity not to be missed to spend a luxury break at Villa Igiea, a sumptuous Palermo hotel by Rocco Forte Hotels.

A luxury break, of course, but also an engaging full immersion in art. Until January 22, 2023, in fact, Villa Igiea will be the home of the third edition of BAM – The biennial Arcipelago Mediterraneo. The churches, palaces and streets of Palermo will host more than 20 artistic projects, including a performance by the engraver François Dezeuze and the ” NOMAD ” exhibition by the English artist Paul Harbutt.

The events of Villa Igiea

There are also numerous happenings in the hotel. For example, temporary exhibitions of local and non-local artists are set up in the common areas of the Palazzina Donna Franca.
Finally, the monthly literal coffees with Stefania Auci in the Basile Room of Villa Igiea are also not to be missed, characterized by frescoes from the 1900s signed by Ettore de Maria Bergler.
The first path bears the signature of the photographer Francesco Domilici. He will guide guests through the streets of his hometown Bagheria, a town known for its 18th century villas and the Guttuso museum, to continue with a visit to the Ducato workshop and concluding with a tour of the photographer’s atelier.
Instead, in the second itinerary, Nicola Pucci, an internationally renowned painter from Palermo, will accompany hotel guests on a journey to the lesser-known places in Palermo. This itinerary includes a visit to the Oratory of San Lorenzo and the Church of the Madonna della Mazza.
The itinerary ends in the artist’s home-studio. Here a traditional Sicilian lunch will be served, based on local products and wines.
