Turisanda Club Karafuu Beach Resort & SPA Zanzibar Pingwe – 5 Stars

Zanzibar, the jewels of the Indian Ocean

“It’s a kind of magic,” sang the immense Freddie Mercury, born Farrokh Bulsara, a native of the Zanzibar archipelago.
It is axiomatic that a land as magical as this should be the birthplace of one of the legends of the history of music.
And it is from a legend that this group of islands seems to have sprung: the story goes that in ancient times, the gods threw a handful of precious stones into the Indian Ocean,
creating one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Everything here enchants, from the dazzling white beaches  to the warm, crystal-clear sea, from the rain forests to the little villages and the nature reserves.
Everything in Zanzibar exudes authentic charm and is enveloped in a magical atmosphere.

The Resort – Why we like it:

– It is located on the east side of the island, inside a 7-hectare tropical garden, and guarded by a palm grove that was left intact during its construction;
– It overlooks a beautiful white sandy beach in front of the coral reef from which a stroll along a 200-metre-long walkway at low tide brings you to a natural pool in the sea where you can swim;
– The accommodation allows you to live in full contact with nature: the characteristic thatched cottages are nestled under the shade of palm trees on the beach or in the garden. The rooms are bright, decorated in warm colours, and furnished in the local style;
– The Samawati Spa is much more than just a Spa. Nestled between the rock walls of the promontory overlooking the beach, it is a temple of wellness. It proposes classic and anti-stress massages and a rich programme of beauty treatments; –  It is small to medium in size and you don’t notice the presence of the other guests. Its discreet atmosphere guarantees a stay in total privacy and relaxation.

For lovers of fine dining: Food & Restaurant

– “Kijiji” – the main restaurant with a panoramic terrace. It offers a buffet service for breakfast, lunch and dinner;
– “Bondeni Restaurant” – proposes a buffet breakfast and à la carte menu for lunch and dinner;
– “Eatalian” – restaurant and pizzeria for sampling traditional Italian dishes;
– “Masai Village” – a place inside the African village that is ideal for savouring local dishes and customs. An informal setting, it is open a few evenings a week for dinner and traditional Swahili dances;
– “Grand Bleu” – paid restaurant that must be booked. Located a few metres from the sea, it offers an à la carte service with fish specialities. Elegant setting.

Extra amenities: the structure contains a marine biologist and a fully equipped diving centre.

Karafuu Beach Resort & SPA Zanzibar Pingwe is part of the Turisanda Clubs. A carefully selected range of structures dedicated to travellers seeking quality and customized service, with an eye to Italian taste.
