“House of Gucci”, Hollywood cast for the highly anticipated Ridley Scott film starring Lady Gaga
From Gressoney, to Rome, passing through Lake Como, Milan and Florence: these are the locations of the highly anticipated Ridley Scott film “House of Gucci”, which has been shooting in recent weeks.
The absolute protagonist is Lady Gaga who plays Patrizia Reggiani, instigator of the murder of her ex-husband, founder of the prestigious fashion house Gucci, played by Adam Driver.
The film is based on the 2001 book “The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamor, and Greed” by Sara Gay Forden.
The film tells the story of the Gucci family and, as mentioned, focuses on the events that led Patrizia Reggiani to organize the murder of her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci, which took place on March 27, 1995.
The cast is stellar: in addition to Lady Gaga, Al Pacino plays the role of Aldo Gucci, Adam Driver plays Maurizio Gucci, Jared Leto Paolo Gucci, Jeremy Irons Rodolfo Gucci, Camille Cottin will be Paola Franchi. In addition, Jack Huston and Reeve Carney also appear in the cast.
The Locations
Gressoney-Saint-Jean, a ski resort at the foot of Monte Rosa, is the first location in Italy for the shooting of Ridley Scott’s film. This is where they took the photo that went around the world: Lady Gaga with heavy gold jewelry and a white fur hat as Patrizia Reggiani and Adam Driver – Maurizio Gucci.
Cast and crew then moved to the second Italian location, namely Milan, in particular the fashion district. And it is right near here, in via Palestro 20, that Maurizio Gucci was murdered with three gunshots on March 27, 1995 by a hitman hired by Reggiani.
In Milan, the true heart of the film, they shot scenes in Piazza Duomo, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, Piazza della Scala and the quadrilateral, but also near the Central Station, in Via Vittor Pisani, and at the State University.
The film’s actors stayed at the nHow in via Tortona, while Lady Gaga is said to have chosen Palazzo Parigi.
Another exceptional location is Lake Como, in particular the municipalities of Lenno and Ossuccio and the interior of Villa Balbiano, a historic residence built at the end of the 16th century by Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio.
Here Lady Gaga stayed at Villa Cima while the other actors of the cast chose Villa d’Este in Cernobbio.
The film should be released in theaters in November 2021, but it is still not official due to the pandemic in progress.
