And also stay for the weekend and the long weekend from 28 October to 1 November

Are you ready to experience the scariest and most magical night of the year? If you haven’t yet decided where to spend Halloween, here are 7 scary suggestions from HotelmyPassion!

1 Halloween in Venice at the Skyline Rooftop Bar of the Hilton Molino Stucky Venice

Venice, a city steeped in charm and mystery, is famous for its unique atmospheres and fairytale landscapes. And what better place, therefore, to celebrate Halloween than the Hilton Molino Stucky Hotel, on the banks of the Giudecca?

The Skyline Rooftop Bar, famous for its mixology and an essential destination for the coolest aperitifs and parties, celebrates the scariest night of the year in the name of pure fun and mystery. Between haunted cocktails and DJ sets with spooky sounds with the “Spooky Stucky” event.

Live music and DJ sets to dance until late at night, admiring the suggestive atmospheres of Venice from above. Furthermore, themed displays, complete with skulls and cobwebs, will frame the haunted cocktails created for the occasion by Bar Manager Sebastiano Scarpa.

For example, the Zuppa Di Rospo cocktail is ironically inspired by the famous potion prepared by witches to control the weather. In Sebastiano Scarpa’s version the magic potion is nothing more than non-alcoholic cider with kiwi and clarified yellow apples and non-alcoholic beer.

2 Fear and fun in Romagna

MarePineta Resort, a charming hotel in Milano Marittima, offers the Halloween Night to experience on the Romagna Riviera. Dj Python and Il Gaddo will bring “FORMIDABLE” to the stage, the coolest format of the summer which returns in the Halloween Edition version throughout the night.

Furthermore, for the November 1st long weekend, MarePineta also offers a package for the whole family.

  • Tuesday, October 31st at 8pm Special Haunted Dinner Dinner with buffet menu at the Room of Horrors: magic show and entertainment for the whole family. Dinner with local autumn buffet menus, in the Garden Room, themed for the occasion.
  • Wednesday, November 1st at 11.00 Cooking Lab Dolcetto Scherzetto, an event dedicated to adults and children to create horror desserts, in collaboration with Azzuchef.

3 An evening in Dante’s Inferno

“Dante’s Inferno” is the event created by the Executive Spa Hotel in Fiorano Modenese (MO) to celebrate Halloween, Tuesday 31 October. The “sinners” will be able to choose their own “group”, in which to indulge in a gourmet dinner, and then let go of the fun with the DJ set of Nicola Zucchi  and Atollo, and ending with the tasty Late Night Breakfast.

The start of the evening, in collaboration with Veuve Clicquot, is scheduled for 8pm in the “Heretics” group located in the Hall bar. Dinners will begin at 9pm: on the hotel rooftop, the Lussuriosi are expected at ALTO – the fine dining restaurant – for an ad hoc tasting menu created by Chef Mattia Trabetti.

Instead, Accidiosi will be able to sit in the temporary pop-up of SETA Sushi Restaurant in Bologna, hosted in the ARIA cocktail bar, to enjoy an “Omakase” experience with dishes created “live”.

Finally, gourmands will be able to enjoy the menu dedicated to the Emilian tradition, by Chef Paolo Balboni, on the ground floor at the Exè Restaurant.

4 Special sweets at the Excelsior Hotel Gallia, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Milan

Stefano Trovisi, Pastry Chef of the Excelsior Hotel Gallia, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Milan, dedicates one of his single portions to the Halloween occasion.

On October 31st, guests – including external ones – who choose to enjoy breakfast at the Gallia Lounge & Bar will be able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of this celebration with ancient origins by choosing the “Cheesecake with pumpkin gelée and cinnamon crumble” from the rich buffet.

The Excelsior Gallia has a regal bearing, like a Grand Hotel. Everywhere large spaces, plays of light, contrasts of light and dark marble, transparencies of silk-screened glass. Art Deco furnishings carefully crafted by the best Italian designers and craftsmen.

The studio of architect Marco Piva who conceived and followed the entire project also created a unique collection of works of art: more than 500 sculptures, paintings and photographs

5 Family Halloween on Lake Garda

The prestigious hotel, originally the summer residence of Count von Torresani, high dignitary of the Habsburgs and for some years superintendent of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, has for decades been a renowned point of reference for the tourist offer of Trentino and Lake Garda.

6 Magical recovery in Calabria

According to the Calabrian scholar and professor at the Sapienza University of Rome Lombardi Satriani, Halloween night was born in a town in Calabria, in the province of Vibo Valentia and refers to the ancient popular tradition of the “Coccalu di muortu”.

In Serra San Bruno, for centuries, to mark the anniversary of the dead, children empty the pumpkins, give them the frightening look of a skull and go around the town asking for an offering, chanting “Mi lu paid lu coccalu?” (Will you pay me for the dead man’s skull?), an ante litteram version of the American Trick or Treat.

Just as the “magare” were Calabrians, feared sorcerers, actually elderly ladies who handed down ancient wellness recipes with medicinal plants and herbs and removed the evil eye or charm.

Inspired by this ancient popular wisdom, the Capovaticano Resort Thalasso Spa has created a natural wellness proposal “The secret of magare: bewitched by nature”, which uses seasonal raw materials and enveloping massage techniques carried out by fairy hands.

7 Halloween in New York

The list of Halloween celebrations in New York City is endless, including parades, themed shows, potions lessons, spooky cemetery tours and much more.

The most iconic is certainly the Village Halloween Parade, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary: scheduled for October 31st, from 7pm to 11pm, the gathering begins at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Canal Street and continues up to 15th Street, a route usually traveled by around 50,000-60,000 people.

This year the theme of the parade will be “Upside Down: Inside Out”, a concept that will surely stimulate the creativity of New Yorkers and others.

A hotel to stay in? In New York there is a historic terminal at JFK airport: it is the TWA Flight Center: it was built in 1962 and then decommissioned and closed in 2001, as it had become inadequate for increasingly modern aircraft. But such an iconic place could not have remained closed forever: and, in fact, it has been reopened but as a hotel.

The entrance to the TWA Flight Center terminal in Saarinen has been transformed into the hotel lobby, so large that it is one of the largest lobbies in the world. Two new curvilinear buildings were then added behind the original structure which house 512 suites.
