Have you ever experienced the thrill of being pampered in a spa literally built of snow? From today it is possible to do it in Livigno.
The new temporary spa is called “Snow SPA Experience”. The indoor wellness experience that guests of the Lac Salin hotel of the Lungolivigno group experience in the Alpina SPA inside the Resort completes.
“Nef” and “Glec” or “snow” and “ice” are the dialect words that describe this singular experience carried out at 1816 meters above sea level, where night temperatures can reach minus 30 degrees.
It is precisely the cold that literally keeps this snow chalet called “sauna de glec” standing where you can experience the cold.
Hot baths in the Nef Jacuzzi are alternated with a short stay in the cold in the Glec Sauna: the combination is both beneficial and daring at the same time.
The singular open air spa, immersed in the snow, is a temporary spa. In fact, it will last until temperatures rise and the snow melts.
The Snow SPA Experience is also open to external visitors: daily entry is 53 euros for 4 hours.
This new dream signed by Lungolivigno (a well-known hotel-commercial reality in Little Tibet for over 60 years) is the natural evolution of the long journey that links snow with art. In fact, for over 25 years the Giacomelli family has been transforming snow and ice in winter to create artistic installations with the “Art in Ice” winter event. Or the famous “Snow Dream Experience” guest room to sleep a night immersed in walls of snow.
