Bringing together eight award-winning chefs for a whole week dedicated to fine food and wine. Where? In one of the most exclusive five-star luxury hotels on Lake Como. The result of this combination is “Simposio del Gusto” or Taste Symposium, celebrating its second edition from 9 to 16 December at CastaDiva Resort & SPA.
Eight evenings of gourmet fare during which top-class chefs will be presented with awards by a jury of journalists and celebrities from the Italian and international world of food and wine in recognition of their distinctiveness and their way of interpreting fine dining.
Participation at “Simposio del Gusto” is open not only to patrons of the resort, but also to external clients.
The cost for each evening is 160 euro per person, including wine.
Key features of this year’s edition will be an interesting food and wine “market”, open to the public, restaurateurs and people from the sector during the weekend (charges apply for food and wine purchased and consumed). It will be dedicated to top-quality Italian and local products and is aimed at promoting excellence internationally. These include wines from the “wine consortium of Valtellina” and the “wine consortium of Lake Como”; “Toc” – a classic speciality from the Como area made according to the tradition of Chalet Gabriele in Bellagio; locally-produced cold meats and cheeses (from Marco D’Oggiono and the Damiano dairy); the world’s foremost producer of high-quality dried fruit, Ventura; Cinciano Olive Oil and Lombardo Craft Beers.
