1000 Miglia, discovering Italy through a four-wheeled dream

1000 Miglia

1000 Miglia is one of the most beautiful races automotive
in the world. From Brescia to Rome and back,
it touches some of the most fascinating places in Italy.
Suggestive routes that allow you to discover landscapes,
traditions, warmth of hospitality ‘made in Italy’

1000 Miglia is an event that involves motoring enthusiasts, but not only. It brings with it a unique charm, years of history of the four-wheeled universe. The re-enactment of the race held for the first time in 1927 and which this year reached its thirty-ninth edition brought avant-garde cars onto Italian roads that made audiences from all over the world dream.

The edition 2021 of the race, whose slogan was “Crossing the future”, combined the tradition and the future of the automobile. The classic cars were joined by the electric cars of the 1000 Miglia Green and the modern Supercars and Hypercars of the 1000 Miglia Experience.

375 cars were admitted, all strictly registered in the 1000 Miglia Register which lists the models accepted to advance their candidacy for the competition, with the addition of some particularly valuable specimens registered in the Special List. It has always been an event followed in the world not only by car enthusiasts because it allows you to discover unprecedented corners and the excellence of hospitality in our ‘beautiful country’. Along the entire circuit, almost 200 municipalities were involved in this thrilling wheel to wheel.

This year the novelty, albeit in full respect of tradition, saw the development of the race from Brescia to Rome, with the direction of travel reversed, thus driving counterclockwise, just as it was easy in many editions of the original race. From the usual ramp of Viale Venezia in Brescia, we moved towards Viareggio along the Tyrrhenian coast, the following day the stage reached the capital. After the turning point in Rome, leaving behind the magic of the Eternal City, it was time to cross the Apennines to touch Bologna and from there tackle the last stretch – passing through Verona and Garda – with the finish line in Brescia. Another curiosity of the 2021 organization concerned the route: the crews, during the first stage, ventured into the Cisa Pass, while on the third day they challenged each other in the Futa and Raticosa Passes.

Hotelmypassion followed the departure from Brescia and shared the most exciting moments on social media.
