Ras Al Khaimah: the Emiato has a unique offer of activities in a beautiful area, ranging from sandy coasts to lush green mangrove forests, from the terracotta-colored sand of the desert to the majestic mountains. These are the ingredients of a holiday in Ras Al Khaimah, the Emirate of nature.

Growing destination

Ras Al Khaimah is included in the ranking of the most beautiful places in the world of 2022 according to Time magazine; it is one of the destinations that is growing the most in terms of tourism.

Sustainability, the key to tourism development

Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority has adopted a new approach towards sustainability: Balanced Tourism, which marks a milestone in the overall growth of the Emirate and its desire to become a leader in the field of sustainable tourism by 2025.
We want to create a destination that is in line with the awareness of the responsible traveler.

Sport events

With the aim of encouraging sports tourism in the Emirate, more and more international and prestigious events are hosted such as the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon. In addition, the Emirate will host the Minifootball World Cup in 2023, an international competition held every two years. For hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, the second edition of HIGHLANDER Ras Al Khaimah 2022 will be held from 18 to 20 November 2022. It is the largest long-distance hiking adventure that includes two experiences: HIGHLANDER55, 55km in three days (18-20 November 2022), and HIGHLANDER Experience a 30km trek in two days (19-20 November 2022). While in December, Ras Al Khaimah and the extraordinary landscape of Jebel Jais, the highest mountain in the Emirates, will host a stage of the 1000 Miglia Experience UAE: the 1000 Miglia, will travel the seven Emirates for 5 days, from 4 to 8 December 2022 .

Hospitality on the rise

News also from the hospitality sector which in 2022 saw the opening of new hotels and resorts, including the InterContinental Mina Al Arab, the first InterContinental Hotels Group facility in the Emirate. Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island debuted on a 300-meter stretch of golden beach. And then the inauguration of the Radisson Resort Ras Al Khaimah on Marjan Island. The Emirate is now able to offer over 8,000 rooms, to which 4,617 will be added in the coming years.

Outdoor activities

There are many sustainable activities introduced in the Emirate. These include the Jais Adventure Park, located in Jebel Jais, the highest peak in the UAE; the park hosts several attractions such as the panoramic Jais Viewing Deck Park, the Jais Flight, the longest zipline in the world. In addition there is the Jais Sky Tour, a route of seven ziplines that stretch for 5km, and the Jais Sledder, the longest toboggan run in the region. Here is also the UAE’s highest restaurant, 1484 by Puro, which offers stunning views of the Al Hajar mountain range. The View by 1484 is the perfect rooftop lounge for a quick and panoramic snack. The lounge is also suitable for hosting private events.
