Imperator, a historic coffee importing company from Trieste, will participate in Host 2023 presenting the new batches of green coffee from Bolivia, Rwanda and Ethiopia. And buyers will be able to experience the flavors and aromas with the traveling tasting format Cupping Friday
The Trieste-based company Imperator will be present at Host 2023, the world fair dedicated to the catering and hospitality sector which will take place in Milan from 13 to 17 October.
Imperator will present the new coffee lots resulting from recent explorations conducted in production countries from Bolivia to Brazil, from Peru to Honduras, passing through Rwanda.
The majority of lots come from the 2 main production areas of Bolivia. That is Caranavi and Cochabamba. Instead other lots come from Brazil.
They were selected in the summer of 2023 during a visit which led, among other things, the Imperator quality control team to obtain the prestigious Q processing certification.
This is a study program developed by CQI – Coffee Quality Institute to improve knowledge and techniques of the post-harvest coffee processing phases.
Furthermore, among the lots offered at Host there will also be coffee coming exclusively from women’s cooperatives in Rwanda and Sumatra. A choice in line with Imperator’s constant commitment to enhancing the role of women within the coffee industry.
Finally, the highlight of the event will be Friday 13 October. In fact, the “Cupping Friday” format will be presented from 11:00 to 13:00.
It will allow you to experience the flavors and aromas of batches from single origins. And in particular some botanical varieties from the Cochabamba cultivation area.
“Cupping” is the term that indicates the tasting method. Governed by an internationally recognized protocol, it is adopted by producers and buyers to evaluate the quality of a batch of coffee.
