Al Baleed Resort Salalah Anantara, new opening

Al Baleed Resort

Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara – A new luxury destination is on the way for those who want to experience the fascinating and exotic atmosphere of Oman

It is almost here. On the first of September the second Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas resort will be opened in the Sultanate of Oman. Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara, located just 15 kilometres from the airport, was designed and constructed on the model of traditional Omani fortresses. The imposing architecture is framed by a tropical garden, pathways for strolling among the palm trees scattered all around, and fountains creating an atmosphere of peace and harmony. The Al Baleed Resort has 136 apartments and villas, with lavish hand-made furnishings and fine fabrics enhancing the interiors in contemporary Middle Eastern style. Overlooking the Arabian Sea, the lagoon and the picturesque gardens, all the rooms are equipped with the latest comforts, including interactive LED TVs, luxury cosmetics, mini bar and a spacious dressing room.

With 40 Premier Rooms and Deluxe Rooms and 96 villas, guests can choose from Premier Sea View Rooms and the larger Deluxe rooms, which overlook the gardens or the immaculate beach. All apartments have spacious rooms, en-suite bathrooms with cascade showers and a separate tub, dressing room, terrace or balcony, and separate living rooms in the villas. What’s more, the 88 Pool Villas with one or two rooms surprise guests with private pools that you can adjust the temperature in, and a private butler, while the elegant three-room Royal Beach Villa boasts a majestic view of the bay and expresses the finest luxury and opulence.

The resort’s three restaurants range from Asian cuisine to cosmopolitan: Sakalan restaurant serves international fare, and is open all day; Mekong restaurant offers the traditional dishes of the regions that the river of the same name flows through; and Almina, the bar-restaurant with a sea view, specializes in barbecues and buffets. Guests seeking a romantic and private atmosphere flock to Dining by Design to enjoy a bespoke menu prepared by a personal chef, served in an exclusive location on the beach. There is also a full room service menu, served directly in your room or villa.

An ideal destination for travellers who love nature, history and culture, the Al Baleed Resort is near the Botanical Gardens and the Museum of incense, as well as the Al Baleed archaeological parka UNESCO World Heritage Site. And there are other experiences to take your breath away: adventurous itineraries to explore mountains and their fortresses, wild wadis and unspoilt beaches, where sportier travellers can engage in scuba diving, climbing, kite-surfing or bike riding.

Conceived in accordance with Thai philosophy, but with Arabic influences, Anantara Spa accompanies its guests on a wonderful holistic journey. With five treatment rooms, a Ladies’ salon and nail spa, separate baths and facilities for men and women, rooms for Rasul mud treatments and the only hammam in Salalah, the spa offers relaxing and rejuvenating treatments that use local ingredients, perfect for a truly incredible wellness experience. Fitness enthusiasts will delight in the resort’s cutting-edge gym, water sports centre, tennis court and beach volleyball court, plus lots of other team sports, and the infinity pool is super for a spot of exercise, or just for basking in. Kids and teens can have fun in the clubs dedicated to them, with an open-air water park and creative activities to be done together, and there are two function areas for events such as business meetings, conferences and weddings.
