New features this winter at the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz and the Grand Hotel Kronenhof

Kulm Hotel St. Moritz

Michelin stars, new designer suites and moonlight skiing: all this and more is the honour reserved
for those spending their winter holidays in the 2 most refined hotels in the Engadine

On Thursday 6 December, the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz and the Grand Hotel Kronenhof reopened, and they did so with many new features that will increase the appeal of these genuine symbols of Swiss hospitality in the Engadine. The cherry on the cake at the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz is the inauguration of 40 new rooms and suites refurbished by the celebrated French designer Pierre-Yves Rochon. The work has allowed the creation of larger rooms thanks to a reduction in their number (from 172 to 164), offering guests new, very private areas equipped with the latest comforts from which to enjoy the splendid vistas over Lake St Moritz. Another new arrival is the St Moritz Skating Club, a sporting club dedicated to ice skating based at the Kulm Country Club with a rink available to guests and affiliates of all ages.

The gastronomic front sees the long-awaited return of Peruvian haute-cuisine by Claudia Canessa – elected Chef of the Year 2018 – in the Sunny Bar, and the holder of 2 Michelin stars, Tim Raue, calling the shots in The K Restaurant. Furthermore, on the occasion of the St Moritz Gourmet Festival, guests of both hotels and the participants in the event will be able to experience the culinary excellence of two talented young chefs awarded by the iconic guide: Sven Wassmer and Nicolai Nørregaard, respectively at the Kulm Country Club (12-14 January) and at Kronenstübli restaurant (16-18 January).

The Grand Hotel Kronenhof is promoting a series of sporting and wellness events that will be held between December and March: Mental Coaching sessions with Thomas Theurillat, the 3 Summit SkiMo Verticals Alpine skiing competitions, Yoga Summits, special Spa Nights and a holistic retreat of Indian origin in partnership with VANA.

Both structures place the focus on paying special attention to families, with the consolidated V.I.K. (Very Important Kids) programme expanded thanks to a calendar of weekly activities – cooking and artistic workshops, treasure hunts, Mocktail Parties and the ever-present snacks of hot chocolate or ice cream served for free in the hotel – and the partnership with the St Moritz Ski School which allows guests to receive free skiing and snowboarding lessons.
Sportier guests can experience the thrills of night skiing on the Diavolezza – whose slopes will be illuminated only by the light of the full moon – during the special openings on 19 January, 17 February and 19 March.
