The readers of Travel + Leisure India & South Asia, the Indian edition of the American magazine of the same name dedicated to luxury travel and lifestyle, have chosen Tuscany as the “best wedding destination in the world”. Votes were gathered for three months and Tuscany’s victory was overwhelming.

The award was presented during the India’s Best Awards, a gala evening during which the winners were celebrated and the final results were presented. The magazine is published by Exposure Media Marketing Private Limited, part of Hubert Burda International, one of the largest Indian publishing houses with an annual turnover of 2.6 billion euros that produces more than 400 brands worldwide.

On this occasion, Carlotta Ferrari, Director of the Destination Florence Convention and Visitors Bureau Tuscany for Weddings division, thanked the readers who chose Tuscany. “Special thanks go to the Tuscany Region, which constantly promotes the territory by highlighting the landscapes and the cities, as well as the more off-beat villas and locations that characterize our destination. Tuscany is an extremely popular Italian region as a wedding destination (31.9%). The Tuscany for Weddings division, a project in partnership with Tuscany Tourism Promotion, works ceaselessly to showcase all the wonders that the territory offers by participating in international trade fairs and industry events, but also through online and offline marketing and communication campaigns.”

Research by the Tourism Study Centre in Florence titled Destination Weddings in Italy 2016 confirms that our destination has already hosted 2,567 destination weddings, at an average of €54,980 euro per event and seen expenditure on goods/service of over € 141.1 million.
